This was the Gaurs' first win over the Mariners in the ISL.
Juan Ferrando lost against his former side for the first time as FC Goa beat ATK Mohun Bagan 3-0. It was a lacklustre performance from the Green and Maroons, who could not register a single shot on target throughout the game. On the other hand, three different players from FC Goa were on the scoresheet.
After the game, ATK Mohun Bagan head coach Juan Ferrando addressed the post-match press conference. Edited excerpts from the conference are as follows.
Reaction to the game
Ferrando expressed his opinion on today's game. He said, "Honestly, FC Goa were much better than us. In the first half, our performance was better. We started to slowly build up, we were beginning to press higher slowly. In the second half, due to a couple of injuries, our performance declined. The second goal of FC Goa was a difficult moment for us. It is not possible to talk much (about the game) as I think FC Goa played much better in the game."
How the team will approach the upcoming fixtures
Juan Ferrando reiterated his disappointment from today's game while stating how his team will go forward. He said, "I think now it is necessary to get ready for the next match. Now, it (today's game) is past. It is necessary to take some learnings of course. But we will focus on the upcoming games as the championship continues."
The tactician added, "I know whenever we go away to play it becomes difficult. Of course, I am disappointed today because the team (ATK Mohun Bagan) was not on the field today. Only one team was on the field. This is the truth. It is not necessary to talk so much. FC Goa was much better. I am very disappointed with our performance. FC Goa was better in defence, in attack, and in all points."
Ferrando also gave updates on Kauko's injury. He said that the Finnish has had a few stitches. They will take a closer look at him soon.
