Kevin was in Doha when he breathed his last. He died a natural death and was not present inside the Ahmad bin Ali stadium in Al Rayyan where Wales lost to Iran.
Wales squared up against Iran in their second Group B fixture at the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Gareth Bale-led side as an 86th-minute red card to Wayne Hennessey was followed by two injury-time goals by Iran. A high-spirited performance by the Asian side ensured their victory on the day.
