The Australian came after the departure of Peter Hartley.

After confirming the departure of Peter Hartley, Jamshedpur FC has signed Australian defender Dylan Fox till the end of the season. Fox last turned out for FC Goa, after representing a number of clubs from Australia and New Zealand.

About the player

Dylan Fox made his Indian Super League debut with NorthEast United in the 2020-21 season. He was a commanding figure in defence and carried over his influential displays to the Gaurs. The Irish-born Australian is 28 years old and is the perfect replacement for Peter Hartley. In his debut season, Fox was instrumental in NorthEast United’s run to the semi-finals, helping the Highlanders finish third.

In a total of 31 matches, Dylan Fox has scored one goal and provided one assist. Defensively, he has totalled 111 clearances and 24 tackles across two clubs.

Fox began his career with Sutherland Sharks, before moving on to Australian Club Bonnyrigg White Eagles. His first big-money transfer was to New Zealand’s Wellington Pheonix, with whom he spent four seasons. With over 50 A-League appearances under his belt, Fox also is just the presence Jamshedpur needs to shore up their defence.

Jamshedpur FC’s ISL campaign so far

The League Winners Shield holders Jamshedpur have endured a torrid start to their defence. They currently sit tenth on the table with just one win from 11 matches. The Red Miners have struggled since Owen Coyle’s departure, with the overhaul not going to plan. Also, Wellington Priori and Peter Hartley’s departures have now been filled up with the arrivals of Rafael Crivellaro and Fox. Jamshedpur has nothing to lose and will look to rebuild and recover for the upcoming seasons. Having a leader like Fox back into the set-up is exactly what the team needs to ensure stability.
