Reports: Deepika Padukone to unveil FIFA World Cup Trophy during final

Deepika Padukone is set to unveil the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy before the final takes place on 18 December 2022. She is reportedly going to be present at the final in Qatar and will be unveiling the trophy, an honour that is rare and memorable.

It is a major achievement for the Indian actress who has starred in multiple successful Bollywood movies and has a huge following in foreign countries too.

Recently, she was present at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival as one of the jury members, representing India in full glory. Earlier, Norah Fatehi, a popular figure in the Indian film industry and a reality show star, performed at the FIFA Fan Fest in Qatar.

A grand opportunity

To be able to participate in any capacity at the FIFA World Cup is a major opportunity for any individual. For Deepika Padukone, it will certainly be a moment to savour. She is set to unveil the trophy which is one of the most recognised trophies all over the world across all sporting events.

The final of the tournament will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on 18 December 2022. While the Indian men’s team is not playing at the World Cup, there will be Indian representation nonetheless at the tournament. 

Interestingly, Deepika Padukone is the daughter of Prakash Padukone, who is a legendary figure in Indian badminton. He is a former World No.1 and the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. In 1972 and 1982, Prakash Padukone received the prestigious Arjuna Award and Padma Shri respectively.

Deepika Padukone was last seen in the movie Gehraiyaan. She is set to appear alongside Shahrukh Khan, an Indian Bollywood legend who enjoys a huge fan following across the globe, in the upcoming movie Pathaan.
