Les blues starring to have a history in Qatar.

The World Cup has reached its final level. The defending champions France will take on rampant Argentina on 18th December. The Les Blues so far has been exceptional in the tournament and will look for the final push. However, their task won’t be easy and It will be a very intense task against the Intended and competent Argentine side who are looking forward to giving Leo Messi his best possible send-off.

France had a tough start to the tournament after the injury crisis but they have utilised their resources to maximum efficiency. Despite missing some of the big names in the squad list, they have defied the odds and look like favourites for finals.

Plenty of chances but no finished product

Let’s take a look at the final lineup Didier Deschamps can choose at Lusail Stadium against Argentina.

France’s Predicted formation against Argentina (4-2-3-1)

1. Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper)

Lloris has been the star performer for Didier Deschamps’s side and is the first name on the team sheet. Earlier Lloris’ place in the starting eleven was in question with Maignan but Hugo Lloris has again risen to the occasion and again proved to be the best for France with some heroic saves including a penalty save against Harry Kane’s England. 

2. Jules Kounde (Right back)

Kounde’s versatility in different positions at the heart of French defence has been a key in Qatar. The current Barca defender’s game-reading ability and tackling capability stand him out as one of the important players in World 2022. Against Argentina, Kounde will surely be looking to challenge Di Maria or Julen Alvarez in the final. 

3. Raphael Varane (Centre back)

With his strong performance on his back, Varane will be a cheat code in achieving Les Blues dream to conquer the world again. The former Real Madrid player has got big experience of playing in the final. Against Messi, Varane’s presence will be essential to negate the effect of the Argentine Captain. So far for France in the tournament, Varane has demonstrated some impressive performances for his nation.

4. Dayot Upamecano (Centre Back)

Upamecano missed the semi-final with the French side due to illness but according to reports, he will be fit for the final game of Les blues. Upamecano’s strong presence has helped France to win games quite easily so far in this tournament. His partnership with Varane is one of the reasons for the successful clean sheets in Qatar. 

5. Theo Hernandez (Left back)

Theo Hernandez’s acrobatic finish in the semi-final was a goal for ages and will be remembered throughout his career. He has been crucial for the French side after an ankle injury to his brother Lucas Hernandez who was very important for the French side. Due to his ability to both provide assists and score goals, he poses a serious threat to the opponent.

6. Aurelien Tchouameni (Central Midfielder)

Called after some of the big names like Pogba and Kante got injured, Tchouameni showed his worth to the world in this World Cup. Tchouameni has been a dominating force for France in midfield. The current Madrid star’s strike against England released all the pressure from his side completely. The teenage star midfielder will be looking into the finals to have his impact against the best Leo Messi. 

7. Adrien Rabiot (Central Midfielder)

Rabiot has been the midfield engine for France in this tournament. He is providing Mbappe freedom to stay in the attacking position in the tournament. Winning balls and giving some strong battle to opponents in the midfield has seemed to be a role for Juventus man. Rabiot missed the semi-final against Morocco with illness and will be fit for the final against Argentina as per the reports. 

8. Ousmane Dembele (Right Wing)

Dembele along with Mbappe and Griezmann has stabilised France’s attack throughout the tournament. The Barca winger has always been very terrifying for opponents in one on one situations and Didier Deschamps prefers Dembele always as a starter in the tournament. 

9. Antoine Griezmann (Central attacking midfielder)

France’s key to its current success is Antoine Griezmann. He will surely be a starter along with Mbappe and Dembele. Griezmann throughout the tournament is a link between their two wing positions as he is the only playmaker on the French side. It will be crucial for France to play Griezmann against Argentina to have their dominance in the midfield. Atletico Madrid man is the current assist leader in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. 

10. Kylian Mbappe (Left Wing)

Mbappe has set his eyes on winning his 2nd World Cup title along with his first golden boot as he is the current top goal scorer of the World Cup 2022. Mbappe’s ability has not been hidden from anyone in the world. He is capable of providing an advantage to his team on his own. Mbappe will be a star to watch out for in the Final against Argentina. 

11. Olivier Giroud (Striker)

The Go-kart of the French side is the second top scorer in the World Cup 2022. He is the current top scorer for the Les blues in their history and they will surely rely on Giroud for giving them their second consecutive World Cup title. In the final, there will be a physical battle to watch out for between France’s Giroud and Argentina’s Otamendi that can decide the result of the match in the end.
