When it comes to women’s football, these coaches have been the most impressive in 2022

FIFA announced the nominees for the FIFA Best Women's Coach Award 2022. Women’s football is on a constant rise, and its popularity is assuming new heights with each passing year. 2022 was an incredible year for women’s football, as the game got global recognition, and broke several records. From viewership and attendance records being broken left, right and centre, to set new transfer records, women’s football found its new peak in 2022.

There was also a steep rise in the quality of football being played among the Ladies, which lured more and more fans in front of the TV screens and inside the stadiums. The credit for this improvement in the gameplay, not only goes to the players but also to the involvement of world-class coaches and managers. Who with their incredible tactical abilities and managerial prowess, upped the level of the game being played.

So today, we have ranked the top three most impressive managers from 2022, who according to us, is most likely to win the Best Women’s coach award.

3. Emma Hayes (Chelsea Women's Football Club)

A pioneer and a revolutionary. Few people have impacted Women’s football, as much as Emma Hayes. Hayes has been serving Chelsea’s women’s team since 2012 and has had far-fetched effects on women’s football in England in these 10 years.

Despite the surge in competition due to the increasing popularity of the game. Serina is still one of the best in the business and won her third consecutive Women's Super League title last season, which is the top flight for Women’s football in England.

With her incredible triumph in a demanding league and all-around impressive displays from the touchline, Hayes takes up the third spot in the rankings.

2. Sarina Wiegman (England Women’s national team)

England’s gamble of going shopping for a new head coach to guide the lioness to European glory in 2022, paid off very well, as they got their hands on the veteran Sarina Wiegman, who had incredible prerequisite knowledge of the tournament, as she led the Dutch to the title, just five years ago.

Sarina stormed herself into the history books in 2022, by becoming the first manager, to lead the Lionesses to a major title, and she did that in style, by breezing past all the opponents in the group stage, before showing her experience and incredible tactical abilities, to see England through Spain in the quarters, and Germany in the Final.

This incredible feat, combined with her team’s brilliant performances, earns Sarina the second spot in our rankings.

1. Sonia Bompastor (Olympique Lyonnais Women)

Winner of Division 1 Féminine and the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2022, Bompastor was easily one of the most impressive coaches in the preceding year.

Under her guidance, The Les Gones were invincible in their domestic league, as they won the league title without suffering a single defeat the entire season. Not only this, but Sonia also led her team to a record eighth Women’s Champions League crown, becoming the only team to hand Barcelona Femeni a defeat in about two years.

Sonia’s incredible tactical masterclass against a formidable Barca in the Champions League final, and her year-round domination in the French top flight, earns her a deserved number one spot in our rankings.
