The team is currently looking to sign few more players.

After adding Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo, and Chris Wood this month, Nottingham Forest has added 25 athletes since being promoted, thus Reds manager Steve Cooper must now cut his team to file it in the Premier League for the remainder of the season. Lewis O'Brien and Harry Toffolo, who the team acquired in the summer, are available for sale this month.

In order to register his team with the Premier League for the remainder of the season, the manager must now cut his squad. O'Brien, a midfielder, and Toffolo, a right back, both joined from Huddersfield for a combined £10 million in July, but they are both expected to leave to play for a first-team abroad.

Carlos Corberan, the former Terriers manager who now manages West Brom in the Championship, wants O'Brien, 24, who has managed six Premier League appearances. While Belgian team Anderlecht is after wing-back Toffolo, 27, who has also managed six appearances in the top tier.

What are these Premier League rules?

Also, after the January transfer market closes, Premier League clubs will have to submit their updated squad lists, as they did after the summer transfer window. The number of non-homegrown players allowed in a team must not exceed 17, and a squad may only have a maximum of 25 players. Under-21 players may make up whatever number of the remaining players in the squad. The Premier League determine a Home-Grown Player as being:

"A player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)."

Dean Henderson is expected to return from a thigh injury in three games, thus Nottingham Forest is not currently looking to sign a new first-choice keeper. However, they could release backup keeper Jordan Smith, 28, and instead sign a new third-choice keeper. According to the source, Wales goalie Wayne Hennessey will take over for Henderson as No. 1 for the next three games, and Cooper believes he will succeed.
