The Juggernauts get back to winning ways after a four-game winless run.

Odisha FC edged past Hyderabad FC in a match whose outcome was highly significant for the top-six race. The Juggernauts played good football throughout the game to earn a comprehensive win over the second-placed Hyderabad FC. Isak Vanlalruatfela and Diego Mauricio were on the scoresheet for Odisha while Nim Dorjee netted one goal on either net. With this win, Odisha FC now climb back into the top-six by overtaking Bengaluru, who have played a game less.

In light of these, let us examine how the players of both teams performed in the game.

Had the highest number of touches for his side. Whipped in two crosses. Made five successful interceptions.

Thoiba Singh - 8.5

Played his part excellently in an unusual position. Had a high number of touches, many of which were significant. Made two clearances. Proved to be rock solid at the base of Odisha’s defence.

Carlos Delgado - 7.0

As usual, had a good game. Looked solid at the base of Odisha’s defence and marshalled the troops well. Made two clearances and had many crucial touches.

Denechandra Meitei - 6.0

Had a decent game on the left side of Odisha’s defence. Created a chance through a good cross. Made one tackle and interception each.

Nandhakumar Sekar - 7.5

Took two shots and assisted the second goal for his side. Whipped in two crosses. Had 48 touches.

Raynier Fernandes - 7.5

Raynier was highly influential in the midfield. Created two chances. Had a high number of touches and made many passes to stitch moves for his side.

Saul Crespo - 8.0

Took a shot and created a chance. As usual, he had the highest number of touches and made the highest number of passes for his side, with the figures being 58 and 32, respectively. Made a few defensive contributions as well.

Isak Vanlalruatfela - 8.5

Scored the opener for his side with an outstanding strike from outside the box. Whipped in a cross. Created three chances through his lively performance on the left wing.

Pedro Martin - 5.5

Assisted Odisha’s first goal. Looked a bit rusty due to a lack of match practice. Subbed off in the 71st minute.

Diego Mauricio - 8.5

Took eight shots in total, five of which were on target. Scored the late goal for Odisha FC. Created a chance. Took a lot of workload. Looked threatening throughout the game.

Substitutes

Jerry Mawihmingthanga - 5.5

Played for 30 minutes. Took a shot. Wasn’t much effective in aiding his side’s attacks but played his part well to ensure that the team was able to see off the game.

Lalruatthara - 6.0

Had 19 touches in 30 minutes. Was subbed on to see off the game, which he did quite well.

Victor Rodriguez - 6.0

Had 16 touches in around 19 minutes. Made a few good defensive contributions.

Isaac Vanmalsawma - N/A

Aniket Jadhav - N/A

Hyderabad FC (By Praketh Reddy)

Gurmeet Singh - 8.5

The keeper was the pick of the players for Hyderabad FC in the first half. Made crucial saves in the first half to ensure Odisha did not extend their lead in the game. He made a total of six saves throughout.

Nikhil Poojary - 7.0

The right-back was decent defensively, but could offer less attacking-wise. With Hyderabad FC chasing a goal he was subbed off after 86 minutes.

Nim Dorjee - 7.5

The centre-back scored the crucial first goal for Hyderabad late in the first half and also bagged his first goal of the season. He also made one tackle and two clearances in the first half. In the second half, he looked a bit shaky and was responsible for Odisha FC's second goal as he put the ball into the back of his own net.

Odei Onaindia - 8.0

As always, the Spaniard was the pick of the defenders for the away side. He kept Crespo and Martin at bay and made a few crucial blocks and tackles during the game.

Manoj Mohammad - 7.5

The left-back had a decent game and tried his best to make a few runs when the team was trailing and helped Halicharan Narzary. Was solid defensively, and also had a 72% pass accuracy.

Hitesh Sharma - 5.5

Hitesh Sharma had a game to forget and was not at the races at all in the first half; he got dominated and was no match in midfield. He was substituted at the half time, after a disappointing display.

Borja Herrera - 6.5

Borja was also not at the horses today and lacked pace in midfield. He also could not create much and lost possession as well.

Mohammad Yasir - 6.5

The winger also could not impact so much from the right. With the attacking third having an off day, Yasir also could not contribute much and was subbed off in the 80th minute.

Joel Chianese - 7.0

Chianese was decent with his set-pieces and his first one set up the goal for Hyderabad. Attacking-wise he did not create any further, and also missed a golden opportunity to put his team in front when he should have buried the ball in the goal.

Halicharan Narzary - 7.0

Narzary made a few darting runs but was not his influential best on the night. Odisha FC's Denechandra Meitei was more than comfortable against him. He was subbed off at the 70th minute.

Bartholomew Ogbeche - 6.5

Ogbeche got subbed off in the 70th minute as he was not at his usual attacking threat. He didn't receive any service from the midfield and hardly was a threat to the well-oiled Odisha FC defence. He registered zero shots during his stay.

Substitutes

Sahil Tavora - 6.5

Sahil come on at half time and although he looked better initially, he also could not influence the game when his side needed goals.

Siverio was brought in (with 20 minutes to go) to create chances for the team, but he hardly got the ball and failed to create a notable chance.

Abdul Rabeeh - 6.0
