There were several notable moves that took place in the winter transfer window.

The January transfer window saw a lot of activity from Indian football clubs. Plenty of high-profile players found new clubs for the rest of the campaign. The ongoing 2022-23 campaign in both Indian Super League and the I-League is approaching the business end.

In order to finish the season well and reinforce the squad, football clubs made key signings. These players will aim to help their respective clubs achieve seasonal objectives and make a name for themselves at the same time.

The January transfer window is now closed and it presents a perfect opportunity to look at the top 10 deals from the winter transfer window:

Emmanuel Yaghr to Churchill Brothers SC

Emmanuel Yaghr is an exciting forward who has joined Churchill Brothers SC on a six-month contract. The 24-year-old already has two goals and an assist in four matches for the I-League outfit. Fans of the club will hope that the striker retains his form in forthcoming matches.

Joseba Beitia to NorthEast United FC

Joseba Beitia moved from the I-League to the Indian Super League in the January transfer window. The midfielder moved from Rajasthan United to NorthEast United FC in the ISL. The 32-year-old Spaniard will hope to make an impact for his new club and help them gain some points before the end of the season.

Samandar Ochilov to Kenkre FC

Kenkre FC was busy during the winter transfer window. They signed several high-profile players and Samandar Ochilov was one of them. The centre-back is a great addition to the squad of the I-League outfit. The 27-year-old from Uzbekistan joins Indian football from FK Khujand in Tajikistan.

Joby Justin to Gokulam Kerala FC

Joby Justin has signed for Gokulam Kerala FC in the I-League. The former Chennaiyin FC striker will hope to help the Malabarians improve their league position in the forthcoming matches. The 29-year-old brings a lot of experience to a strong GKFC squad.

Aniket Jadhav to Odisha FC

Aniket Jadhav made the move from East Bengal FC to Odisha FC in the winter transfer window. The former Hyderabad FC winger made nine appearances for the Red & Gold Brigade before moving to the Kalinga Warriors. He is an interesting arrival who will help OFC push for a playoff place.

Gyamar Nikum to Mumbai City FC

Gyamar Nikum won a lot of hearts with his sensational performance in the 2022 Durand Cup for Rajasthan United. He scored a fabulous goal against Mumbai City FC in the tournament. Now, the 18-year-old has been signed by the high-flying Islanders who lifted the ISL shield.

Glan Martins to ATK Mohun Bagan

Glan Martins returns to ATK Mohun Bagan after a winter move. The swap deal between the Mariners and the Gaurs saw Glan Martins and Lenny Rodrigues exchange clubs. The defensive midfielder will add stability to Juan Ferrando’s team in the forthcoming matches.

Lenny Rodrigues to FC Goa

The swap deal between FC Goa and ATK Mohun Bagan saw Lenny Rodriguez rejoin his former club. His inclusion in the lineup will be a huge motivator for the Gaurs. The 35-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the set-up.

Lalthathanga Khawlhring to ATK Mohun Bagan FC

ATK Mohun Bagan raised plenty of eyebrows with their January transfer window activity. They signed one of Kerala Blasters FC’s most consistent players in Lalthathanga Khawlhring. While some reports suggested he was to join at the start of next season, ATKMB expedited the process and signed him in January instead. The midfielder is a very promising addition to the star-studded squad.

Danish Farooq to Kerala Blasters FC

Danish Farooq joined Kerala Blasters FC from Bengaluru FC in January 2023. The club needed a replacement after the departure of Lalthathanga Khawlhring to ATKMB. Ivan Vukomanovic admires Farooq and believes he is a perfect fit for the Yellow Army. The former Real Kashmir FC player has over 27 appearances in total in ISL.
