AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers: Format, Venues, fixtures and more announced

The Competition will determine the four nations that will qualify for the 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup final tournament.
The 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualification will be played in two rounds, within a span of about four months, at the end of which four teams will qualify for the final rounds of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup.
The first round of the Qualifying competition, which is set to commence on the 4th of March, will include 28 teams. These 28 teams have been drawn into four groups of four, and four groups of three teams. Uzbekistan, being the hosts have already qualified for the competition, and Japan, North Korea, and South Korea have also been given the direct qualification for being the top three teams of the last Asian Cup.
Format
All teams belonging to the same group will play each other once, after which the top teams from every group will qualify for the second round. This means, that at the end of the first round of qualification, only eight teams will remain.
In the second round, these eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, and once again, each team will play against every other team in their group once. Once all the games are over, the top two teams from each group will qualify and will join the four already qualified teams for the final rounds of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup competition, which will be played in 2024.
In case two teams are tied on points at the end of all games in a particular group, then the following criteria will be applied in the given order.
- Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams
- Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams tied teams
- Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams
- Goal difference in all group matches
- Goals scored in all group matches
- Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are tied and they met in the last round of the group
- Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points)
- Drawing of lots
Player Eligibility
Players born between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2008 are eligible to compete in the tournament.

In each group for the first round, teams play each other once at a centralized venue. These locations for each group are as follows:

Second Round of qualification
The draw for the second round will take place after the completion of the first round. During the draw, the teams will be seeded according to their performance in the 2019 AFC U-19 Women's Championship final tournament and qualification.
The second round of qualifications will begin on the 3rd of June.
