Kalyan Chaubey's words on RoundGlass Punjab's title win

AIFF (All India Football Federation) President Kalyan Chaubey congratulated the side and said, “Very fulfilling to see an I-league club bought three years ago, run professionally with a low budget and focus on grassroots, academy and Youth Development to bring the I-league trophy back to north India. Congratulations RoundGlass Punjab FC!”

RoundGlass Punjab's I-League 2022-23 season

RoundGlass Punjab appointed Staikos Vargetis as the head coach ahead of the 2022-23 season. After winning 4–0 against Rajasthan United on 4 March 2023, the club clinched their first I-League trophy and created history by becoming the first club to ensure promotion to the Indian Super League. The North-India based club enjoyed an eleven-match unbeaten streak, starting with a win over Mohammedan SC 4-0 (22 January). Their biggest win of the season came against Sudeva Delhi FC (8-0), which helped them gain momentum in the latter stage of the competition.

Sreenidi Deccan and RoundGlass Punjab were battling for the top spot with the latter winning crunch matches to get to the pole position. Delhi Dynamos FC was the only club from the north to play in the ISL, and now RGPFC will become the second and the latest entrant.
