The 19-year-old Bristol City wonderkid has attracted major interest From Premier League Teams
Alex Jay Scott was born on 21 August 2003. He is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bristol City. He was born in Guernsey and plays for England's youth team. Alex inked a pre-contract deal with Bristol City of the Championship in December 2019. The youngster joined Bristol City's school before signing his first professional deal with them in March 2021. In March 2021, he also earned his first call-up to the England under-18 national football team squad. Alex Scott then made his professional debut on March 29, 2021, in England's 2-0 victory over Wales as a second-half replacement.
Alex came into limelight after his star performance against Champions Manchester City
The talented young player from Bristol City might have felt intimidated by Manchester City in their FA Cup fifth-round matchup. But the teenager was outstanding, especially in the first half. Scott maintained possession of the ball wonderfully, carried it with flair, and made decisions in a crowded area of the field that belied his youth, as he has throughout the entire season.
The Guernsey-born teenager appears to have the world at his disposal at the early age of 19. The child wonder surprised even the fussy Pep Guardiola, who called him "an unbelievable player."
Even Manchester City's Jack Grealish, Alex Scott's favourite player, sent him supportive words after the youngster from Bristol City excelled at Manchester City in the FA Cup. Grealish responded to a recording of Scott's post-game statements with the phrase "top talent" on Twitter. Scott is a potential star of the Premier League and his impressive display against Manchester City highlighted his abilities even more.
Alex Scott already becoming a summer target for Premier League teams
Several Premier League clubs were interested in Scott in the latest January transfer window and it's easy to see why. If he continues to impress this season, Bristol City will be bracing itself for a bidding war in the summer. The young midfielder has gained a number of fans by playing in every game for the Championship team this year.Alex Scott, a talented young Englishman, is a target for the Spurs this summer. However, they might encounter stiff opposition given that the 19-year-old is reportedly being pursued by Newcastle, Wolverhampton, West Ham, and Crystal Palace this year. According to reports, Tottenham is considering making a summer swoop to sign Bristol City's Alex Scott. He is valued at £25 million.
What does Alex Scott bring to the table?
Scott playing already every match in Championship, showed his physical prowess and proved that he's not injury prone. Tottenham Hotspur have recently lost Rodrigo Bentancur to an injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season they could sign this young superstar and he could also become a starter for the Spurs.
He excels at participating in combo plays, particularly in the final third, which enables his team to get past the defence of the opposition and perhaps send a cross into the penalty area. One of the reasons for this is that Scott frequently hands the ball off to assisting players after receiving it, which speeds up play by playing a lot of one-touch passes. These all things prove that this young central midfielder can be the next big thing in Europe.
