The German was appointed after the Bavarians suddenly fired Julian Nagelsmann this week.

With the rumoured firing of Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel is expected to be announced as Bayern Munich's new manager. The former Chelsea manager will take over one of Europe's finest teams, but it will be up to him to make the team his own come the summer.

Here is how former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel may line up with his talented group. Tuchel will also strive to identify a balanced squad that works well as a unit to produce successful results.

Goalkeeper: Yan Sommer

Sommer was lured to Munich to replace Manuel Neuer for a good cause. Similar to the Germany international, the Swiss keeper is a shot-blocker of the highest calibre and one of the fastest in the field. He also has the same quick feet and precision distribution as his predecessor.

Right back: Joao Cancelo

Cancelo, who is hailed by the media as a potential player, is most known for his speed, vigour, and offensive prowess as well as his accuracy, dribbling prowess, inventiveness, and crossing ability. Though he generally plays on the right, he is able to play as a full-back or winger along either flank.

He was regarded as one of Europe's top full-backs when at Juventus. Despite his ability to get forward, the media has pointed to his tactical awareness, positioning, and defensive prowess as shortcomings.

Centre-back: Dayot Upamecano

The most common description of Upamecano is that of a highly athletic, right-footed centre defender with growing technical and tactical proficiency. As the cornerstone of his trademark, Hasenhüttl nearly always uses him on the left side of the centre defence.

At only an inch above six feet, he is not a very tall centre defender, but he is incredibly fast, deceptively massive, and a reasonably well-rounded athlete.

Centre-back: De Ligt

De Ligt is a skilled distributor of the ball and a skilled player on the ball. De Ligt poses a set-piece danger as well. His 6'2" size makes him a constant aerial danger, and a few of his goals have come from off corners.

Ligt is one of the combative centre-backs Tuchel wants; he also had Rudiger at Chelsea. The German coach is highly defensive, and defence makes up more than half of his playing style.

Centre-back: Lucas Hernandez

Hernandez's thou-shalt-not-pass mentality on the pitch made him the ideal player for Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico. It also qualifies the native of Marseille for a centre-back position. Tuchel will be eager to use Hernandez since he is one of the top centre-backs who can also play left back and provides 100 per cent in games.

Left-back: Alphonso Davies

Due to his quickness, dribbling, inventiveness, and ability to cross, Davies can play as a wing-back, left midfielder, or winger in addition to his primary position as an offensive full-back on the left side. He is regarded as a very bright young talent in the media. He is an all-around left-back who can attack, defend, and score goals, and under Tuchel he will add tempo to the game.

Central midfielder: Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich, in addition to any other player, was responsible for the fact that Bayern Munich's long-term supremacy of the Bundesliga was so little threatened by the loss of Thiago Alcântara to Liverpool. He is Bayern's most crucial player after being transformed from the full-back he was to the coolest of midfielders based on the astounding success once seen with Philipp Lahm.

How Bayern Munich could lineup under Thomas Tuchel.

Central Midfielder: Leon Goretzka

In the realm of box-to-box midfielders, Goretzka is regarded as one of the greatest due to his defensive skill and passing range. Goretzka can cover unbelievable distances in an incredibly short amount of time, is a competent 1v1 defender who averages 2.50 tackles per 90 minutes, placing him in the 66th percentile for midfielders.

Right-wing: Leroy Sane

The ability to build, locate, and move in space is the most crucial and effective feature of the game. Sane thrives at what he does best, whether it's attacking open areas or lowering himself to make room. And with players like Mane and Gnabry, Tuchel's assault is going to have the greatest pace.

Centre-forward: Sadio Mane

Mané is a "complete player" who exhibits "great levels of focus and attention" when playing. Mané is a multi-talented forward who is known for his finishing, speed, technique, and deception when in possession. He is also known for his versatility, tactical awareness, inventiveness, agility, poise, touch, grip on the ball, and dribbling abilities. But it's still unclear who Tuchel will use in the centre-forward position.

Left-wing: Jamal Musiala

Musiala is a versatile midfielder who can play anywhere in the midfield, including the wings. Musiala's debut with FC Bayern Munich was under the direction of Hansi Flick, who said of him: "He has a tremendous vision and instinct for finding the ideal spots. He can play effectively between the lines and has a lot of confidence with the ball. And Musiala will undoubtedly prosper under Tuchel, who will play him in his favoured left-wing position.
