The Australian is expected to be of the likes of Tim Cahill for the Socceroos.

Garang Kuol, an Australian wunderkind, has never started a senior game at the club or international levels, although he was selected for the Socceroos World Cup 2022 roster.

After igniting the A-League Men competition in 2022, the youngster is undoubtedly the most intriguing addition to Australia’s 26-man team for the tournament in Qatar.

His play has been so outstanding that he has been transferred to a major, rising European team!

The Central Coast Mariners forward has served his nation in the World Cup and has also signed with a Premier League team.

Emergence into one of the most exciting youngsters

An 18-year-old Australian attacker named Garang Kuol was born in Egypt to South Sudanese parents.

He made his senior competitive start in a friendly against Ecuador and the scored the third goal. He is now playing for Central Coast Mariners in the A-League Men tournament and has excelled for the team.

Kuol was chosen by Socceroos coach Graham Arnold to be a member of Australia’s World Cup 2022 squad after making his Socceroos debut off the bench in a friendly against New Zealand in September.

As the January transfer window opens, Kuol will sign with Premier League team Newcastle United and is anticipated to be sent out to further his development.

Due to his young age and small stature, Kuol has already been introduced to top-flight football gradually and has produced a remarkable impression as a replacement.

In April 2022, he made his Mariners debut as a substitute and went on to score three more goals in three straight games before the close of the season.

His exceptional play earned him a spot in the A-League All-Stars friendly against Barcelona when he proved he could hold his own against some of the finest players in the world.

Based on his performance as a substitute during the A-League Men match and the All-Stars game, Kuol was chosen for the Socceroos team for the two friendlies against New Zealand.

Newcastle United’s new youngster

Kuol will sign a multi-year agreement at Newcastle United, the duration of which is not yet public knowledge, when the transfer market opens on January 1.

He will be leased to a different European club where he will be expected to grow because he is not immediately eligible for a UK work permit.

By selling Kuol to Newcastle, the Central Coast Mariners got a commission of almost AU$ 620,000.

Playing style of Garang Kuol

Kuol is intended to play as a striker, and his precise finishing is one of his best qualities.

He has so far mostly played as a winger, where he has shown exceptional speed and dexterity to beat opponents, despite his young age and thin physique. He has also demonstrated that he can work hard for the club defensively; in fact, the Mariners scored a goal against the Wanderers in November as a result of his pressure.
