Manchester United to offer Dean Henderson in swap deal for Tottenham star
The English goalkeeper may be leaving Old Trafford on permanent basis in the summer
Dean Henderson, Manchester United's hope for a modern football sweeper keeper, might well have belatedly found a purpose. After failing to secure the starting position at Old Trafford due to injury issues, the England goalkeeper is presently on loan at Nottingham Forest. He isn't any longer Forest's top pick after Steve Cooper made a bid for Keylor Navas in January.
Thus, Henderson will return to United at the conclusion of the campaign, and even though United is seeking a fresh goalkeeper itself if the 26-year-old does not really blow Erik ten Hag's socks off as he imagined he would have achieved last summer, the ex Sheffield United loanee is going to be on the road again.
Henderson is a player on who fellow Premier League giants Tottenham are quite keen as they look for a long-term successor for Hugo Lloris. Jordan Pickford is another player they are interested in, although the England No. 1 is only probable departure from Goodison if somehow the Toffees are demoted.
Spurs' interest benefits United, as it may persuade Daniel Levy to be more receptive to negotiations over a trade for Harry Kane, according to the report. It could. But, Levy's estimate of the England striker at £100 million is unlikely to be reduced significantly.
United are reportedly considering David Raya of Brentford and Diogo Costa of Porto as a replacement for Henderson, who is on his way, and David De Gea, whose contract extension further than the end of the current campaign is far from guaranteed.

Manchester United are in severe need of a striker since they lack a reliable striker, Anthony Martial has a history of injuries, and Wout Weghorst, who they signed on loan, is set to depart the team after this season due to his ineffectiveness in front of goal.
Nevertheless, with just Jadon Sanco, Marcus Rashford, and Antony as regular players, they lack depth in the attacking line.
And because Rashford has been the team's only consistent goal scorer this season—scoring half of the team's goals—United must sign a quality goalscorer for the coming campaign. Given that Kane is a Premier League component and still has four or five years left in his playing career, he might be a great choice.
