Who is Luis Guilherme - Palmeiras' new wonderkid?
The Brazilian youngster has recently attracted the interest of many European giants
Recent wonder kids to emerge from Brazil include Endrick Felipe, who will play for Real Madrid, Angelo Gabriel, a forward for Santos, and Luis Guilherme, a player for Palmeiras. Guilherme, 16, is a graduate of Palmeiras' renowned youth academy.
Guilherme is already in the attention of many European clubs despite not having played a single senior squad game. Guilherme has a chance to prove that he belongs in the same league as Endrick Felipe now that he will eventually join LaLiga giants Real Madrid.
What is Luis Guilherme's name, and how talented is he?
Brazil's northern city of Aracaju is where Luis Guilherme was born. He began playing football at the collegiate level and represented numerous of these institutions up until the age of 11. Later Palmeiras sought to sign him after noticing his talent. To attend the academy, he would move more than 2,000 kilometres to Sao Paulo.
He breezed through various young teams over the course of five years, which caused teams on the other side of the Atlantic to sit up and take note. The national team, which has called him to the under-17 and under-20 squads, has also acknowledged his talent.
In the 2020–21 season, he first gained attention when he scored four goals in ten games for Palmeiras' under-17 team.
Guilherme would participate in four friendlies for Brazil's under-17 squad in April 2022. At the exact same time, he will compete for the under-17 squad and play for Palmeiras in the renowned event known as the Copinha.
He has played once this season, at Copinha, when he put up an outstanding performance to net a fantastic goal.
Luis Guilherme's playing style
Guilherme has spent the majority of his brief career on both the left and right wings. Guilherme, who can play either position, always prefers to use the outside lane. When he operates on the right flank, in particular, scaling back inside results in a fall onto his powerful left foot.
The adolescent also likes hanging out close to the halfway line, which is where he launches any attacks. This enables him to advance the ball fast using his dribbling talents. Also, even if he passes well, his initial touch is exquisite. This enables him to maintain possession of the ball even when faced with difficult passes.
Clubs interested in signing Guilherme
Real Madrid indicated an interest in signing him last summer. Las Blancos have experienced tremendous success throughout the years after acquiring young Brazilian players. Vinicus Jr. and Rodrygo serve as ideal illustrations of this tactic. His teammate Endrick Felipe had previously signed by Real Madrid, and it appears that they will sign him as well.
As they aim to enhance his development, Palmeiras ew inclined to retain him for the time being. Even Felipe will join the team in July 2024; if Madrid is able to negotiate a similar agreement, they may be able to add another gem. Manchester City are also interested in the youngster,
The fact that he will play for the first team this season, though, will really highlight his talent. Might a new Brazilian star so emerge? The early indications are quite encouraging.
