The youngster joined Watford in January 2022

Yáser Esneider Asprilla Martnez, a Colombian amateur football player who competes for both his country's national team and Championship team Watford, was born on November 19, 2003.

Young people's academy in Envigado produced Yáser Asprilla. On December 2, 2020, he made his debut as a professional for Envigado in a 0-3 Categora Primera A loss against Independiente Medelln. He got his first goal for Envigado on July 18, 2021, in a 2-2 tie with Atlético Nacional.

Transfer to one of England's prominent clubs

Envigado confirmed the sale of Yáser Asprilla to Watford on January 17, 2022, after an agreement was reached in August 2021.

The 18-year-old forward completed a transfer to England in January after making a name for himself at the same club that initially nurtured James Rodriguez.

Even for the most gifted young players, making the transition from South American football to one of Europe's "Big Five" leagues is a difficult task.

In order to succeed at the highest level, a potential star must also have a lot of self-belief in their abilities.

However, it does not appear to be a quality lacking in Watford's newest acquisition, 18-year-old international Yáser Asprilla from Colombia, who is already aiming to outperform his namesake Faustino (no related), maybe the country's most accomplished transfer to the English top flight.

Envigado is a little club that plays on the outskirts of Medellin; they seldom ever compete for honours in Colombia. Instead, they excel at developing the newest talent, which is their area of specialisation.

Asprilla is only the most recent alumnus of a young programme that has recently produced talents like James Rodriguez, Juan Fernando Quintero, Giovanni Moreno, Mateus Uribe, and Fredy Guarin, among others, who have established themselves on both sides of the Atlantic.

In January, it was unclear exactly where Asprilla would use his undeniable potential for the near future. He will aim to get more international game time in Tuesday's pivotal World Cup qualifier against Argentina.

It is still unspecified if he will qualify for a working visa in the UK, but it was believed that Watford would decide to let him go on loan for the remainder of the season to pursue his valuable first-team football, with Envigado, Colombian rivals Deportivo Cali, and the Hornets' sister club Udinese being mentioned as potential destinations.

It will be fascinating to see where he ends up when his international obligations are done because the European transfer deadline has passed and he is still a member of the Watford team.

Fastino Asprilla, a former Newcastle United, Parma, and Colombian star, has already given him one important endorsement, encouraging him to follow in his ways and leave a lasting mark in England.
