Ratings: Jhingan, Udanta star as Bengaluru FC prevail over RoundGlass Punjab.
Hero Super Cup Group A will go down to a decider between three teams.
Bengaluru FC notched up their first win in the Hero Super Cup, following an emphatic 2-0 win over RoundGlass Punjab. The I-league champions are now out of the qualification race, whereas Bengaluru take another step towards making it to the semi-finals.
RoundGlass had their moments, but a red card proved to be their undoing as BFC found the openings late. Here are the ratings from the game
Kiran Limbu - 8
Kiran made a number of splendid saves tonight and was the only reason why Bengaluru couldn't break the deadlock until the 66th minute. The keeper was sensational with his reflexes as well as his clearance.
Khaiminthang Lhungdim – 7.5
Lhungdim was very much involved in RoundGlass's offensive transitions, and also was also defensively apt, doing his best to stop a strong Bengaluru side.
Suresh Meitei – 6.5
Despite doing very well in the first half, Suresh's performance somewhat degraded coming onto the next half, as the player got exploited by the likes of Pablo and Krishna.
Hmingthan Mawia - 7
Mawia made a crucial goal-line clearance and was solid for the majority of the night. He did particularly well to keep Sivasakthi at bay in the first half, and not allow Bengaluru any chance in front of the goal.
Naocha Singh - 6
Naocha Singh had a night to forget, as he left the field of play following a second yellow. The player however did well in Punjab's offensive play in the time that he was on the pitch.
Juan Nerra – 6.5
Juan was industrious in the midfield in the first half and was combining viciously with Juan Mera to break Bengaluru's midfield, but the player, unfortunately, lost his touch in the second half and was completely invisible in the field
Freddy Lallawmawma – 7.5
Freddy was arguably one of the best players for his team tonight and truly gave his all in his task of being a holding midfielder. Freddy kept Suresh quiet for the entirety of the game, and his passing as well as pressing were second to none.
Ajay Chettri – 6.5
Ajay couldn't contribute as much as what was expected of him but still did well with his passing. He couldn't come up with a clear-cut attacking opportunity in the first half and was subbed off at the beginning of the second 45.
Juan Mera – 7.5
Mera was once again the heart and soul of his team and was very creative in the middle of the park. The Spaniard played some brilliant passes that really opened up the play and also tried his luck with some long rangers.
Khungdongbam Krishananda Singh - 7
Krishna put in a decent shift in the left wing tonight and created a number of chances and also put in some brilliant crosses. His battle with Bruno was also savoury, and the player did very well to make the Brazilian's night difficult.
Luka Majcen - 6
Luka couldn't impact the game in any game whatsoever. He hardly had any shots on target and was not sharp with his play.
Substitutes
Mohammed Salah – 5.5
Salah came on in the 81st minute and made very few contributions in the game. The player however conceded the penalty, which led to Bengaluru’s second in the final minute of the game.
Aleksandar Ignjatovic - 6
In the 15 minutes for which he was on the pitch, Aleksander couldn’t really have any attacking impact, and by no means filled in Juan Mera’s boots in the attacking midfield position.
Brandon Vanlalremdika – 6.5
Brandon came on at the onset of the second half and did really well in the heart of Punjab’s midfield. The player was very precise with his passing and presented his teams with some brilliant opportunities.
Pranjal Bhumij - 6
Pranjal came on for Punjab in the final 15 minutes and provided some stability in the defense. He also helped in keeping Pablo Perez quiet toward the end of the game.
Daniel Lalhlimpuia – 6.5
Daniel came on in the 65th minute and was an decent performer for his team. He however threaded some beautiful passes into the paths of Luka and contributed to his side's attack.
Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 6.5
Gurpreet was hardly tested by RoundGlass, but made himself fully available whenever his team needed him for an aerial clearance or passing option.
Parag Shrivas - 6
Parag did a decent job in the backline, despite being exploited a few times by the likes of Juan Mera. He was subbed off at the end of the first half.
Sandesh Jhingan - 8
Sandesh was yet again at the very top of his game and gave a blockbuster performance for his team in the back. He kept the likes of Juan Mera quiet throughout the game and deservedly won the Hero of the Match award.
Bruno Ramires – 7.5
The Brazilian also had a solid 90 minutes, and have his all to help his team keep a clean sheet. His high speed added to his daunting physical stature gave Punjab players a tough time in the front.
Namgyal Bhutia - 7
Namgyal was very impressive tonight against Punjab and was constantly making his presence felt both on the offensive as well as the defensive half. The player put in some exceptional crosses and also made some outstanding runs with the ball at his feet.
Javi Hernandez - 7
The Spaniard won and scored the penalty that gave Bengaluru a 2-0 lead and did really well in the middle of the park as well.
Rohit Kumar – 6.5
Rohit didn't have the best of his outings tonight, as he missed a golden chance in front of an open goal. He kept things moving in the middle of the park.
Roshan Singh - 7
Roshan put in a decent shift tonight and played a number of accurate crosses into the box. It was also his corner, that led to his team's opener.
Sivasakthi Narayanan – 6
Sivasakthi had a disappointing game today. The player was very much off the mark and missed the incredible tenacity and sharpness, that he usually possesses.
Sunil Chhetri – 6.5
Sunil did way better tonight in comparison to his performance against Sreenidi and put himself at the end of a couple of great chances. He was also very sharp with the ball at his feet.
Substitutes
Jayesh Rane – 6.5
Jayesh was decent in the midfield and provided the stability and poise to Bengaluru’s game, which was important for them to hold on to their lead.
Pablo Perez – 7.5
Pablo assisted Bengaluru’s opener, and change the course of the game after being subbed on. He was very lively and made a number of positive plays with the ball at his feet.
Prabir Das- N/A
Udanta Singh - 8
Udanta was a force to contend with down the wings and was undoubtedly the biggest reason why Bengaluru were a completely different side in the second half. The winger scored his team’s opener and created tons of chances from the right-hand side of the field.
Roy Krishna – 7.5
Krishna was also at the top of his game ever since coming on and contributed significantly through his playmaking as well as positioning. The attacker drew defenders into wider positions to open up play for Udanta in the middle.
