UEFA Champions League 2022-23: Quarter-finals updated schedule, fixtures
The first round of the quarterfinals of the UCL kicks off this week
The quarterfinal stage of the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League started on February 14 with a round of 16, and it will conclude on June 10, 2023, with the championship match in Istanbul, Turkey's Atatürk Olympic Stadium. In the knockout stage, 16 teams were in all competitions.
Due to difficulties and crowd management, clubs from the exact same city are not expected to clash at home the same day or on days in a row for the quarterfinals and semifinals. The tie featuring the side with the lower domestic rating in the qualification season has its legs played in the opposite sequence from the initial draw in order to prevent such a schedule problem.
With the Round of 16 concluded tonight, there are now just eight clubs left in the running for the coveted 2022–23 UEFA Champions League championship.
Several of Europe's heavy hitters, including the reigning champions of England, Spain, Italy, and Germany, remain in the running. For the first time after 2006, three of the eight quarterfinalists will be made up of Italian teams.
The top three favourites to win the prestigious trophy, according to the oddsmakers, are still Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid. In the quarterfinals, they can be paired up against one another.
