AFCON U17 2023: Everything you need to know
The tournament is already underway
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) organises the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, additionally referred to as the TotalEnergies AFCON U17 2023 for sponsorship reasons, every two years for its member countries with players under the age of 17. It serves as the competition for African national teams to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The tournament is already underway.
Cameroon won the last edition of the competition back in 2019 beating Guinea in the final.
AFCON U17 2023 qualification
The CAF determined in July 2017 that the qualifying competition's format should alter and be divided into zones Eleven teams will join the hosts Algeria at the conclusion of the qualifying process.
Qualified teams
These are the qualified teams that will play in AFCON U17. Players must have been born on or after January 1, 2006, to be eligible to compete.
Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali Cambodia, Congo, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia
Venues
Algeria are the host of the AFCON U17 2023 edition of the competition.
Algiers, Annaba, and Constantine are the three locations that the Algerian Football Federation selected for the tournament's host cities in Algeria.

Group B: Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia
