The Blaugrana will yet again be in looking for targets in the free agents market
A handful of Barcelona's most recent additions in 2023 were intriguing, and the club's list of transfer objectives in 2023 is pretty remarkable. For the 2022–2023 season, we have already witnessed some significant transactions.
Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski are just a few examples. In 2023, which player will Barcelona sign? We outline the players that Barcelona considers to be its top transfer targets for the summer of 2023. What players can FC Barcelona acquire in 2023 on free transfers?
Ilkay Gündogan
Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Manchester City, is reportedly 'sure' that Barcelona will be permitted to get him for free. A new "short-term deal" to keep the 32-year-old at the Etihad beyond the current campaign is apparently being offered, but talks have stalled thus far. Gundogan has contributed significantly to Man City's success under Pep Guardiola, however, he now appears to be moving closer to a summer exit.
Additionally, City may let the German leave the team since they want to recruit England international Jude Belligham in the summer and will need to release some salaries in order to do so. However, Chelsea and Liverpool are also very interested in the kid.
Inigo Martínez
Inigo Martinez, a defensder for Athletic Club, is said to have already agreed to a two-year contract with Barcelona and will leave when it ends at the conclusion of the current campaign. According to Relevo, Martinez has already signed a contract and will transfer to Camp Nou in the summer.
Martinez reportedly had a club physical "a month ago" and signed a deal with Barcelona this week, according to the source. At Barcelona, Martinez will earn a somewhat higher wage, and Xavi wanted to bolster his team with a left-footed centre-back, so he signed Martinez.
Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi's summer ambition to join Barcelona has received a major boost as Le Parisien reported that talks between the player's camp and PSG had come to an end.
Messi's contract with the French powerhouses was anticipated to be extended for the duration of the season because he would be a free transfer in the summer. But earlier this year, everything changed. Then, Barcelona entered the fray for his services after Joan Laporta and Xavi openly stated their desire to recruit the Ligue 1 midfielder.
Since both parties decided to work towards an agreement renewal during the beginning of the World Cup in Qatar, PSG is still interested in keeping the striker, and the forward's priority has remained constant. However, the club is making great efforts with that goal in mind, and they have been encouraged by the current deadlock in Messi's contract negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain.
