Both players have been regarded as the football future stars

Kylian Mbappe established his reputation with AS Monaco. He contributed to the team's Ligue 1 championship, which caught PSG's attention. He was the most expensive youngster the next year when they signed him on a loan in the summer of 2017. Mbappe has already been scoring for fun ever since just for pleasure.

In 44 games across all competitions during his first season (2017–18), he recorded 21 goals and 11 assists. Mbappe was Mbappe during the 2018–19 season. For the first time in his professional life, he led Ligue 1 in goals scored with 33. In his second season, Mbappe scored 39 goals and contributed 13 assists. Mbappe has totalled 252 games for PSG, making 202 goals and 77 assists.

Tuesday night's Champions League match between Manchester City and Bayern Munich ended in a 3-0 victory for Manchester City, breaking the previous record for a Premier League player with his 45th goal of the year across all competitions.

Erling Haaland broke the mark during the Premier League era, which Manchester United attacker Ruud Van Nistelrooy established 20 years ago and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah equalled in 2017–18.

Haaland had already recorded their first 30-goal top-flight campaign since Salah and Tottenham's Harry Kane each accomplished the milestone five years ago, and he's subsequently scored half as many goals in other tournaments.

In addition to scoring 45 goals in 39 games this season, Haaland scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Burnley and a goal in the Carabao Cup against Liverpool.

He is wedged between Fernando Morientes, who netted 33 goals in 93 games for Real Madrid, Monaco, Liverpool, and Valencia, and Edinson Cavani, who scored 35 goals in 70 games for Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United.

With both milestones squarely in his grasp in the final weeks of the season, Haaland is only two goals away from equaling Salah's tally for a 38-game Premier League campaign and requires four to surpass the series record established by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer in the initial 42-game Premier League period.
