Top five players with most left-footed goals in Premier League history
The league has been home to legendary players who have scored a record-breaking number of goals in their careers.
Matchday after matchday, goals have been scored, and certain strikers have made their goals count when it truly counted. Over the past thirty years or more, right-footed strikers have dominated the Premier League. However, this season, left-footed athletes may have been more productive.
Over the past 20 years, the team's creative centre has primarily been comprised of left-footed players. Ryan Giggs, David Silva, and Mesut Ozil are examples of similar players. But for a variety of reasons, finishing with the left foot has been more commonplace this season.
Here are the top five players with the most left-footed goals in Premier League history:
5. Riyad Mahrez: 65
Riyad Mahrez has excelled this year for Manchester City. His deception and fantastic finishing have kept the team's chances of defending its league crown alive.
While he frequently distributes the ball utilising his right foot, few players in the league are as good with their left foot as he is. To put things in perspective, Mahrez has only used his left foot to score all 65 of his league goals this season.
4. Ryan Giggs: 83
Let alone the best left-footed player in Premier League history, Ryan Giggs is a strong contender. The Welshman played a crucial role in Manchester United's era of Premier League domination.
In 1991, Giggs, a member of the Red Devils' renowned "Class of '92," made his club debut. In his debut season, he played in 28 games and contributed to four goals and one assist. However, he received several awards for his playing style and commitment to the cause.
3. Robin Van Persie: 94
One of the finest attackers to play in the Premier League was Robin van Persie. The Dutchman had excellent records for both Arsenal and Manchester United, scoring a lot of left-footed wonder goals.
The Dutchman settled quickly and was outstanding throughout the 2012–13 season. Van Persie scored 30 goals in 48 games, including 26 goals in the Premier League, helping United win the championship quite easily.
2. Robie Fowler: 105
He played as an attacking player and now holds the eighth-highest goal total in Premier League history. His stint at Liverpool, firstly from 1993 until 2001, is what made him most famous. He is Liverpool's second-highest scorer in the Premier League with 183 goals, garnering the moniker "God" from the Anfield faithful.
1. Mohamed Salah: 106
Mohamed Salah has consistently been among Liverpool's top finishers in Europe and in the Premier League, and his most recent FWA "Footballer of the Year" award reflects this. However, without their Egyptian impression, none of this would have been conceivable. It is not surprising that the bulk of his blows have been made with his stronger left foot, even if he is highly skilled at striking with his right foot.
