Premier League 2022-23: Chelsea vs Brighton: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
Chelsea hosts the Seagulls in a crunch tie at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea are enduring probably their worst possible season in the Premier League era and are currently languishing 11th in the Premier League table with little to no hope of qualifying for European Football next season. They were well beaten on Wednesday evening against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final 1st leg match and were fortunate to get away with a 2-0 scoreline. Here is the preview for Chelsea vs Brighton.
Unless there's a miraculous turnaround next week in the 2nd leg, the hope of Champions League football next season looks extremely bleak for the Blues. However, they have an opportunity to give themselves a shot in the arm when they host 7th-placed Brighton who's on the rise & chasing European ambitions under Roberto De Zerbi.
Despite losing their manager Graham Potter to Chelsea back in September 2022, Brighton's season wasn't derailed at all. Chelsea ended up sacking Graham Potter and appointing Frank Lampard very recently, and the Seagulls' appointment of Roberto De Zerbi led to even more plaudits and success both on and off the field. They're having an even better season than their London-based opponents this week and will look to pull off an upset victory and firmly establish their ambitious credentials even further.

Player to watch
Chelsea: Joao Felix
The loan spell hasn't gone according to plan in terms of scoring goals for the Atletico Madrid loanee. He's scored only twice in 10 Premier League matches so far and will look to add an end product this week to build his confidence. His trickery with and without the ball is always worth the watch.
Brighton: Kaoru Mitoma
The Brighton winger has been nothing short of a revelation in the Premier League this season. His dribbling accuracy is off the charts and is almost impossible to mark on the left wing. He has 7 goals and 4 assists and helped the Seagulls reach the FA Cup semifinal as well, helping Brighton push for Europe. He's the one the watch out for Saturday.
