Elon Musk has made Twitter Blue subscription compulsory for verification.

The Twitter Blue membership assistance, which was introduced by Elon Musk's company in India in February 2023, included the blue tick as one of the offerings. A fresh statement from the corporation has been released about historical blue ticks.

As Musk has previously stated, those who received the blue tick—also known as the legacy blue tick—before the subscription's introduction are now being deleted. The world's largest social networking platform has officially declared that as of April 1, old blue ticks or checkmarks would be eliminated.

Every person who was confirmed under Twitter's previous verification system will be impacted by this. If they are not enrolled on Twitter Blue, all users who obtained their blue tick or check will lose it.Check out the list of famous players that have lost their blue ticks below.

Riyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez, a Manchester City player and captain of the Algerian national team, made a plea to Elon Musk in an effort to regain his confirmed blue tick on Twitter after momentarily losing the badge of authority.

Twitter has not responded to the situation, but insiders claim Mahrez has neglected to confirm the email address linked to his account since the social media site revised its policies. In a subsequent tweet, the football player appeared to corroborate it, stating that he will "verify my email".

Aymeric Laporte

Aymeric Laporte hit out at “crazy dude” Elon Musk and his “weird ideas” after seeing their blue ticks on Twitter disappear.

'Legacy' confirmation ticks will be vanishing, according to the American social media network, which pushed users to Musk's contentious Twitter Blue membership. On Thursday, such ticks started to be removed from several accounts.

Laporte queried the choice as well once his own blue tick vanished. Initially stepping up to the podium, he wrote: "Damn Elon what did u do lol"

Neymar

Since acquiring control of the social networking platform, Elon Musk, who paid $44 billion for it last year, has made a number of adjustments. The verification marks will be made available by membership, he had added, and the website was entering a new age.

The PSG striker, who is among the finest players in Europe and is frequently active on social media platforms, had his blue tick removed. Neymar has 62 million followers on Twitter.

Kylian Mbappe

Elon Musk, who spent $44 billion for the social media platform last year, has implemented a lot of changes since taking control of it. He had also stated that members will be required to access the verification marks, marking the website's transition into a new era.

The PSG striker, who is regarded as one of Europe's best players and is active on social media, had his blue tick removed. 12.2 million people follow Kylian Mbappe on Twitter.

Cristiano Ronaldo

On Thursday, the social media behemoth started deleting the formerly-desired blue tick authentication from thousands of accounts.

Elon Musk, the owner, is overhauling the social media firm in an effort to make a profit. Users must spend $84 (£67) per year to subscribe to Twitter Blue in order to keep the tick next to their name. Others maintained their ticks while some lost theirs. And among them is one of the best players, Cristiano Ronaldo, who lost a blue tick on Twitter.
