Bundesliga 2022-23: Bayern Munich vs Schalke: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast

The defending champions will be hoping to make three wins on the spin when they take on Schalke, on Saturday evening.
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich will be one more step closer to retaining their title for the eleventh consecutive time if they're able to win against historic rivals Schalke in this weekend's Bundesliga fixture. With only three games left till the season concludes, the pressure and anticipation are truly on for the record champions and their fans who're anxiously living weekly, with second-placed Dortmund only a point behind their team Bayern(league-leading 65 points).
Thomas Tuchel will be preparing his side for a third consecutive victory on the trot, after winning 2-0 a couple of weeks ago against Hertha, & a 1-2 away victory last week at Bremen. Inconsistency has been the identity of this Bayern team, with loads of ups and downs, ranging from the removal of Julian Naglesmann, injuries to Mane, Gnabry, and Sane at crucial times of the season, & being knocked out from the Cup and UCL consecutively.
However, the newly appointed Tuchel seems to have found a consistent defensive shape with the return of Pavard to centre-back and Mazraoui to eight-back. They've won a couple of games based on being solid, and not spectacular, contrary to Bayern's swagger in churning wins. However, neither the management nor the fans will care, if the results keep going their way, as three more wins assure them of another Meisterschale.
For Schalke, the possibility of staying up had been looking very bleak up until the last two matches, where they've turned it around. Manager Thomas Reis seems to have found a special recipe recently, since the 4-0 thrashing away from home to Freiburg. His side has won back-to-back games against Bremen (2-1) and Mainz (2 - 3), and miraculously are above the final relegation spot in 15th. Another win on the road might confirm their Bundesliga status for another year, however, they go up against the top side who have got the exact opposite ambition to them and behind the support of a raucous home crowd at the Allianz Arena, in Munich.
Kick-off:
Saturday, 13th May 2023, 02:30 pm (GMT)
Saturday, 13th May 2023, 07:00 pm (IST),
Bayern Munich form (all competitions): W-W-L-D-D
Schalke form (all competitions): W-W-L-W-L
Players to watch out for
Bayern Munich: Joshua Kimmich
The Bayern captain has really stepped up his game since Bayern were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Manchester City. He assisted both goals in the last home win against Hertha a couple of weeks ago and put in another man of the match performance last week against Werder, and was at his creative best(most chances(4) and passes(90) in the game), despite not returning a goal contribution. He'll be leading the charge yet again this week and will have a role to play in unlocking a desperate Schalke side, who's fighting for survival.
Schalke: Marius Bulter
The German wide forward is having a pretty decent league campaign given his side's goal-scoring form throughout the season. Despite Schalke scoring only 31 goals (lowest in the league), Bulter has been responsible for 12(11G,1A) of those goals. He got a brace against Mainz last week and will be the clear dangerman for Bayern defenders to keep an eye on Saturday.
