Can Chelsea get relegated from Premier League this season?

The Blues currently sit 12th in the English top-flight table
Fans of Chelsea are looking forward to the end of the 2022-23 season, which has been one of the worst in the long history of the club. This season, the Blues have lost 14 games, and interim boss Frank Lampard hasn't been able to win any of the six games he's been in charge. With three of the top four teams still to play, the team's chances for the rest of the season don't look good. So, fans of other teams are starting to hope that Chelsea will be sent down to the Championship.
Is it possible that Chelsea will go down this year?
Mathematically, yes. They have 39 points from 33 games, so there is still a chance that they could be kicked out of the league. The team is currently in 12th place in the Premier League table, nine points ahead of 18th-placed Nottingham Forest, which is the final relegation spot. Leicester is in 16th place, and Leeds is in 17th. Both of these teams are nine points behind Lampard's team.
But for this to happen, The Blues would have to lose their last four games and Forest, Leicester, and Leeds would have to win at least ten points in their last four games. Also, Bournemouth (39), Wolves (37), and West Ham (34), who are all below Lampard's team in the table, would have to pass them.
Even though there is a logical chance that he Blues could go down, it is very unlikely that they will play in the Championship next season. In the last 23 seasons of the Premier League, the 18th-placed team has averaged 35.6 points, and Birmingham City was the last team to be promoted with 39 points in 2010-11.
Since the league's inception in 1992, Chelsea has never been demoted from the Premier League. But in the past, they have been kicked out of the top level of English football six times, with the most recent time being in the 1987–88 season. Chelsea only spent one season away from the top table because they won the Second Division and got back into the First Division.
Chelsea still has five Premier League games left this season. The next one is on May 6 against Bournemouth. Even though Chelsea is having a bad run right now, fans still have hope that the team can turn things around and end the season on a good note.
