Ranking the top three clubs Xabi Alonso could be managing next season
Xabi Alonso has his sights set on a top managerial role
Xabi Alonso, a former player for Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Real Madrid, is creating waves in his inaugural senior management position with Bayer Leverkusen. Bundesliga.com examines the Spanish midfield prodigy who has mastered management.
It felt like a bold move for Leverkusen to choose Xabi Alonso as their new head coach in October 2022, when he had no prior connection to the club, and no prior experience leading a first team. The Spaniard may perhaps be headed for a profession as a coach, that is just as renowned as his playing career.
Here we have ranked the top three clubs Xabi Alonso could be managing next season:
3. PSG
The outcomes demonstrate that the German team is aware of its goals. Achievements and outcomes have drastically changed since his arrival. After taking over a strong team that was battling to avoid relegation, he soon motivated the players to pursue more challenging goals. Roma, who is already in the semifinals of the Europa League, stands between you and the championship game.
Given his work at Leverkusen and the fact that PSG will be overhauling their roster and wanting to give young players opportunities, the Ligue 1 giants can hire Xabi Alonso in place of Christopher Galties.
2. Tottenham
Since becoming manager of Bayer Leverkusen in October, the retired Spain international has been doing an admirable job, as the Bundesliga team is currently in the Europa League semi-finals, and also has a chance to play in next season's European competition. After Antonio Conte left in March, temporary manager Cristian Stellini also left, and Spurs are still without a long-term boss, leaving Ryan Mason as manager for an additional stint until the conclusion of the period.
1. Real Madrid
Due to Real Madrid's scattered performance this year, Ancelotti has been mentioned frequently as a possible leave. But, bringing home a trophy should be enough to keep him at the club past this season.
Alonso could be a surprise pick to succeed Florentino Perez as Real Madrid's manager, but he might still be a wise one. He was named the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen in October of last year when the German club was having severe financial difficulties. But since then, the Spaniard continues to be doing wonders.
