Neymar Jr in attendance at F1 Monaco GP 2023
The Brazilain was spotted with the Red Bull team on the paddock
Neymar Jr was noticeably absent as Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) title triumph came to an end. The Samba winger abandoned the glittering floodlights of Parc des Princes for the equally brilliant glamour of a Monte Carlo casino in Monaco, according to Express.
On the morning of the Monaco Grand Prix, the superstar was engrossed in a poker game, abandoning his teammates in celebration of their Ligue 1 title victory. After the suspense of the Monaco Grand Prix, the 31-year-old substituted gambling chips for his football shoes.
Neymar wasn't simply playing any sort of poker; the scene was a veritable carnival of celebrities. Members of the F1 media and other luminaries had received invitations to attend the match.
Due to being away from the Ligue 1 championship celebrations, Neymar was the centre of attention among all the glitz and glamour, making him the topic of several photos and videos.
Neymar's teammates were joyously celebrating their most recent Ligue 1 championship at home in Paris. The tense 1-1 tie they managed against RC Strasbourg sealed their title. Prior to Strasbourg tying the score in the waning seconds of the game, PSG had taken the lead thanks to a crucial goal from Lionel Messi.
Despite Lens' 3-0 thrashing of Ajaccio, PSG merely wanted to avoid losing to secure the championship. It was difficult to overlook Neymar's absence as the final whistle blew.
The triumph was enjoyed by Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the injured Neymar was unable to be found.
Despite not participating, teammates, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, and Presnel Kimpembe offered support by occupying seats in the audience. But Neymar seemed to have a different definition of how a good evening should be spent.
His vacant chair served as a sad reminder of his decision to wager on a different type of game that evening.
