Piers Morgan reveals Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to join Arsenal

The Portuguese superstar left Manchester United by mutual agreement
When it comes to his beloved Arsenal, Piers Morgan has never been one to hold back, and his most recent assertion has brought in an old friend in Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Sunday, Arsenal's sputtering title drive appeared to have lost steam forever as they were soundly defeated 3-0 at home by Brighton.
For Mikel Arteta's team, it meant dropping points for the fifth time in seven games. As a result, Man City just needed one victory from their last three League games to clinch the championship.
The polarising TV host criticised Arsenal's players for their apparent lack of grit after spending the whole of the season cheering for the Gunners to win their first championship in 19 years: "All over. utterly outplayed by a squad that recently suffered a 1–5 loss, he took to Twitter and said:
"A horribly lacklustre, passion-devoid, spiritless, pathetic performance that cements an inexplicably dismal run-in to a season which promised so much. Bottom line: we choked."
The conversation hasn't finished there, as is so frequently the case with the 58-year-old. Morgan advised Arteta to go get Ronaldo on a short-term contract after his explosive interview with the former Real Madrid player in December caused the Premier League legend to leave Manchester United.
Instead, "CR7" arrived in Saudi Arabia on a lucrative contract with Al Nassr, and like Arsenal, his title aspirations with his new team have now faded in the season's final weeks. Moreover, after publishing his shopping list for Arteta's summer shopping binge, Morgan received a tweet asking: "Where is Ronaldo Piers? RONALDO, WHERE ARE YOU?
The TalkTV host, ever bold, reiterated his original opinion and even insisted that the all-time top international goal striker was eager to visit the Emirates:
"Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season - as he was keen to do btw - we would have won the League," he wrote.
Morgan keeps on arguing that Ronaldo is the GOAT of football, even after Lionel Messi and Argentina won the World Cup last year, as Morgan added "He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters."
