PSG interested in surprise move for Martin Odegaard
Ligue 1 champions are looking to make some changes to the squad
In a shock report, Paris Saint-Germain have asked about the acquisition of Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
The youngster has had an outstanding campaign, enabling the Gunners to move up in the Premier League and make their first title threat in more than a decade.
Martin Odegaard has been among the top performers this season, playing 37 Premier League games while scoring 15 goals and dishing out eight assists.
Odegaard's outstanding performances have been noticed by PSG, who are mulling a surprise transfer for the 24-year-old.
The French powerhouses may have a difficult time convincing the Norwegian to leave Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's future plans depend heavily on Martin Odegaard, who also enjoys his life in London.
Arsenal have a transfer allocation of about £180 million plus, but they don't want Martin Odegaard to leave since they want to finish above second next year.
Granit Xhaka, who scored a brace in their 5-0 victory over Wolves on Sunday, appears to have played his last game for the team. Bayer Leverkusen have shown interest in Arsenal's midfielder. Meanwhile, fullback Kieran Tierney has attracted interest from the Magpies.
Rob Holding and Thomas Partey, two defenders, might be leaving Arsenal this summer to raise some funds in order to make additional signings.
Meanwhile, PSG are also vying for Manuel Ugarte, who is wanted by Chelsea. PSG have made a bid for the 22-year-old, who has a £53 million buy-out clause.
Chelsea wants a holding midfielder to complement Enzo Fernandez in midfield and are seeking additional money by asking Mason Mount for £75 million.
They have also shown interest in Southampton's Romeo Lavia, Monaco's Youssouf Fofana, and Brighton's more costly Moises Caicedo. They are looking to offload Lionel Messi and Neymar this summer.
However, given that the attacking midfielder has been a paramount element of the team this season, a move to PSG is completely impractical. So, the Ligue 1 giants may therefore need to consider alternative options.
