The Copa Del Rey will crown a new winner in this year’s final to be held at the Estadio La Cartuja, in Seville, on Saturday evening.

Real Madrid will be playing for their 20th Copa Del Rey trophy when they take on an Osasuna side that’s currently 10th in the LaLiga table. The Los Blancos have historical precedence of always being in Cup finals of knockout CUp competitions and going on to win most of them. However, their recent relationship with the Copa Del Rey trophy has been far from favourable.

Since their last Copa Del Rey trophy win in 2014, Real has gone on to win five more Champions League trophies, without reaching a single Copa Del Rey final in between. For the ever-faithful Madristas, it might be a strange feeling to reach the final of the domestic cup competition after nearly ten years, as Jose Mourinho led the side, an inspired & memorable Gareth Bale solo goal brought them to glory.

Despite losing 2-0 against Real Sociedad at the weekend and dropping down to third in the league, Real’s focus will be on winning the first of two available trophies(including the Champions League), starting with the cup final on Saturday, & followed by the UCL semi-final tie against Manchester City on Tuesday.

Osasuna will be hoping to add a trophy to a relatively successful domestic season with a win over Real in the final. The top scorer in this season’s competition in their ranks, with Kike Garcia who’s scored five goals in the competition so far. They’ve beaten the likes of Sevilla, Real Betis & Atletico Bilbao en route to reaching the final and the win against Real will cap off a memorable Copa Del Rey final, and win their maiden Copa Del Rey trophy.
