Vinicius Jr hits back at LaLiga following racist chants and sending off
The Real Madrid sensation was racially abused by Valencia fans in yesterday's game
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr declared that "LaLiga belongs to racists" after being racially harassed by opposing supporters during a match.
After an argument with Hugo Duro, the 22-year-old Brazilian international was sent off in the 97th minute of Valencia's 1-0 La =Liga defeat.
Later in the contest, an enraged Vinicius Jr managed to draw the notice of the referee to Valencia spectators.
"The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today belongs to racists," Vinicius Jr posted on Instagram.
"A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and which I love, but which agreed to export the image of a racist country to the world. I'm sorry for the Spaniards who don't agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists.
"And unfortunately, for everything that happens each week, I have no defence. I agree. But I am strong and I will go to the end against racists. Even if far from here."
Valencia are poised to issue permanent stadium bans to two supporters who racially assaulted Vinicius, according to reports.
Vinicius has been the recipient of racial insults on several occasions this season. La Liga said in an announcement that it will investigate and take appropriate action.
"appropriate legal action" if a hate crime was identified, calling on people to submit any relevant footage."
La Liga president Javier Tebas claimed on Twitter that Vinicius failed to show up twice for a meeting to explain what happened: "can do in cases of racism".
"Before you criticise and slander LaLiga you need to inform yourself properly," Tebas said.
Vinicius slammed the post for focusing on him rather than the "racists," saying he wished for La Liga to take "actions and punishments."
In the 70th minute of the match on Sunday, Vinicius attempted to single out supporters in the stands who he suspected were insulting him.
He was escorted away from the pitch by teammates and Valencia players before being addressed by referee Ricardo de Burgos and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Vinicius was subsequently sent off for his initial match in La Liga for being involved in a huge brawl between the two teams.
