When is the next international football break?
Euro 2024 qualifiers and CONCACAF Gold Cup are scheduled for next month
The 2022-23 club football season is coming to an end. Some of the top leagues in Europe have ended, while others have reached the last few game weeks. These leagues are expected to end within the coming week. Soon after the league football gets over, there will be no break for the players. They have to prepare for international football.
The international football break is expected to start on June 8. Mexico and Guatemala are expected to play the first match. This break will end on July 16. The long break starts with a friendly and will end with the CONCACAF Gold Cup final match.
During this international break, the European teams will be playing qualifiers for Euro 2024. The 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup is another major tournament that will take place during this international break. Meanwhile, countries from all around the world will play friendly games against each other. This is a great platform for some of the players, especially youngsters, to show their talent on an international level.
UEFA has scheduled the EURO 2024 qualifiers on June 16–17 and June 19–20, 2023. The last qualifier matches were played in March.
The CONCACAF Gold Cup is scheduled a bit late. The group stage will start on June 24, and the tournament will end on July 16.
Asian, South American, African, and Oceania nations will play friendly matches during this international break. This is a chance for them to do some experimentation and bring a few new faces to the team.
Fans can witness their favourite stars playing for their country. Lionel Messi will be in action for Argentina. Cristiano Ronaldo is also ready to lead Portugal in the EURO 2024 qualifiers. Also, players from different leagues will play alongside each other. Most matches are expected to end on June 20. Only the CONCACAF Gold Cup will head into July.
