AC Milan and Inter Milan battle out for Marcus Thuram's signing
The 25-year-old forward has made 10 appearances for France
According to a source, amid suspicions that Marcus Thuram will soon be moving to AC Milan. Inter Milan have once again re-ignited their interest in signing the striker and are attempting to claw their way back into the battle to recruit him.
When France were playing in the 2022 World Cup, Inter Milan appeared to be highly interested in signing Thuram. They even travelled to Qatar to meet the player and his agents, but after that, things seemed to settle down.
Then AC Milan declared that Thuram was "one bend from the finish line" and expressed a tremendous interest in him. Where he will go after departing on a free from Borussia Mönchengladbach is still a matter of some debate.
The 25-year-old had planned to sign a deal for five years worth €5 million net per season that the Rossoneri had lobbied hard for over the previous few weeks.
Inter Milan are making a valiant effort to win the race despite appearing in the rearview mirror. Because of Edin Dzeko's departure, the Nerazzurri may now give a new player a slightly larger salary and more in commissions.
Thuram is now in control of the situation. AC Milan, who have a legitimate advantage, will hold on and hope for a last-second pass, but the forward will have to decide between two separate projects.
But the source also says that Paris Saint-Germain are keeping an eye on the situation and could shortly make a deal with Thuram.
