Al-Nassr interested in signing free agent David de Gea

The Spanish keeper is out of contract with Manchester United

David de Gea is set to become a free agent after his contract expires with Manchester United. This means that the 32-year-old will be looking for a new club and reports are coming that Al-Nassr have shown their interest in the Spaniard.

According to a Saudi Arabian sports journalist, Ahmed Aljadi, the goalkeeper is holding discussions with the Saudi Pro League club and has a chance to reunite with former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.

De Gea was one of the highest-paid footballers in the Premier League and his contract was set to expire on 30 June 2023. Manchester United offered him a new contract on a lower salary. The player accepted the offer but towards the end, he was offered an even lower pay scale.

The deal broke and it looks like David de Gea's 12-year spell with the Red Devils will end. The 32-year-old goalkeeper was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson and he even won the league under his management in the last season of his managerial career.

A club record holder with 190 clean sheets and the goalkeeper with the most appearances for Manchester United is set to leave after mismanagement from the club's hierarchy. He was unhappy with the deal offered towards the end and decided not to sign a new deal.

With Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr showing interest, David de Gea could be another Premier League goalkeeper who is set to join the league. Edouard Mendy recently joined Al-Ahli.

Having won the Golden Glove last season, David de Gea is in good knick. His shot-stopping ability has earned four Player of the Year award at Manchester United.

The Red Devils have already selected his possible replacement in Andre Onana of Inter Milan.
