The youngster is selected for the upcoming friendlies

The 18-year-old was recently picked up by Argentina's senior squad and is likely to make a senior appearance for the world champions after this month's edition of international competition. In two friendlies, La Albiceleste plays Australia and Indonesia.

At Manchester United, Alejandro Garnacho has had an incredible season, establishing himself as one of the league's most promising players.

Before their opening encounter against Australia, Garnacho was questioned in Beijing about what it was like to join the team alongside a national idol like Lionel Messi.

"I haven't spoken to Messi much. I've watched him on TV all my life and now he's right here, it's amazing. It doesn't seem real."

While Garnacho is thrilled to have the chance to play with Messi, he once stated that his rival Cristiano Ronaldo was his favourite player.

Earlier, it was reported that the youngster could change allegiance from Argentina to Spain, but the forward denied those rumours.

He would be permitted to participate in these future friendlies with Argentina while still legally representing La Roja.

However, the winger has spoken about and put an end to these allegations and has reaffirmed his dedication to Argentina going forward.

"I don't need to play three games. I'm here and if I don't make my debut on the tour, it doesn't matter. I know I want to be with Argentina and it's going to happen," Garnacho said.

"I want to make a career with the Argentine national team, if the coach trusts me I can keep coming. I want to be one more and take part in the Copa America, the qualifiers and the World Cup.

"I know that a lot of people in Argentina love me, appreciate me. I've already made the decision to play for Argentina, and I'm going to return that love on the pitch."
