Manchester United's Antony accused of 'domestic violence, threat and bodily injury’

Antony has been accused of domestic violence as police file FIR in Brazil

Reputable sources via Brazil, Manchester United player Antony is being accused with "domestic violence, threat, and bodily injury."

The player's ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, lodged a police report in So Paulo on Monday, according to information released by Globo Esporte today.

According to her, the Manchester United player assaulted her on May 20. It's unclear where the alleged assault took place, according to Globo, as Antony was at the time in England.

She claims that Antony had previously acted aggressively, and the report contains "photos of abrasions and threatening messages" from him. While information is being assembled Cavallin is now requesting from the Brazilian police "an urgent protective measure."

Globo Esporte claims that she and Antony were dating last year. They revealed that in June 2022, after the couple had been anticipating their first-ever, she posted on social media claiming she had experienced a miscarriage.

Antony’s personal life has previously big issue in Brazil’s rumour columns in the past year, as he had been engaged shortly until this connection with Cavallin was revealed. In a chat with ESPN Brasil in April, he sounded rather anxious when discussing personal concerns.

Globo Esporte said the athlete and his crew elected not to respond to the information. It’s unresolved whether Manchester United will conduct the same reason.

This disturbing story continues the ongoing troubles facing the banned Mason Greenwood, while club great Ryan Giggs has been on trial for charges of violence against his ex-girlfriend and will stand a re-trial next month.

Since joining United, Antony has demonstrated some promise; but, these claims related to conduct off the field seem to have the potential to be quite serious.
