Bernardo Silva speaks about Manchester City's future post Champions League final
Barcelona and PSG are keen on signing the Portuguese
Bernardo Silva gave a coy reply when asked about his future after Manchester City won the Champions League final, beating Inter Milan 1-0. The Manchester City player is reportedly planning to move to Paris Saint-Germain soon.
On Saturday, Bernardo Silva played a crucial role in the move that permitted Rodri to score the game's only goal against Inter Milan in the Champions League final. This helped City win their first Champions League title and complete an unprecedented treble.
The Portuguese player's future is uncertain, but Telefoot journalist Sabre Desfarges reports that Silva wants to sign with Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint-Germain.
But Silva delivered a cautious response when asked about his future, saying:
“My future? Honestly… I don’t know. We will see what will happen in the next few weeks and the next few months. I just want to enjoy this moment”
One of FC Barcelona's top transfer targets from the previous couple of years appears to be on the verge of being missed.
Bernardo Silva, however, retained that unofficial title, and the Catalans might have acquired him if Frenkie de Jong had chosen to sign with City's crosstown opponents, Manchester City, instead of accepting Barca's bid of €85 million ($91 million).
Silva was projected to cost roughly the same amount, but his purported desire to join PSG right now and quit Manchester could mean that Barcelona loses out once more.
During their time together at Monaco, the 28-year-old and PSG's technical advisor Luis Campos, as well as Kylian Mbappe, were close. The Qatari-backed heavyweights are reportedly in contention to make a bid above €65 million ($70 million), which would put City to the test.
