Fiorentina record three European final losses in a row after UEFA Conference League defeat

They lost two finals this season
Fiorentina fail to win another cup final this season after their 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in the UEFA Conference League final. The Italian side lost the Coppa Italia final to Inter Milan earlier this season.
The first half of the UEFA Conference League 2022-23 final ended in a goalless draw. Fiorentina had more possession of the ball than West Ham United. They created more chances and were almost rewarded at the end of the first half. The Italian side scored a goal with the last play of the half. Former Real Madrid striker, Luka Jovic was judged offside and both teams had to settle with a 0-0 scoreline.
The second half saw West Ham taking the lead in the 62-minute from a penalty. Said Benrahma netted the first goal of the Conference League 2022-23 final. Giacomo Bonaventura equalised within five minutes. Jarrod Bowen was the match-winner for the Hammers. He netted a 90-minute winner.
Fiorentina last won a major title in the 2000-01 season. They won their sixth Coppa Italia Cup. The Italian club last tasted European success in 1960-61. Fiorentina won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and also tasted Coppa Italia's success in that particular season.
The Lillies have not been the same team as they were in the past. This season, Fiorentina finished 8th in Serie A and outside European places. Vincenzo Italiano's side ended the 2022-23 season with 15 wins, 11 draws, and 12 losses in the league. They managed to find the back of the net 53 times and leaked 43 goals.
In the UEFA Europa Conference League, Fiorentina finished second in their group with four wins, a draw and a loss. In the knockout stages, Fiorentina won six and lost two matches. The Lillies scored 36 goals in 14 games. They averaged more than 2.5 goals per game. Their defence leaked 16 goals.
This loss meant that West Ham United have ended their 58-year wait for a European title. Fiorentina's loss means that they will miss out on European football next season.
