The Dutch international claims he wants to say with the LaLiga giants next term

Frenkie de Jong has claimed in a recent interview that he wants to stay at Barcelona next summer. But has also confirmed that nothing is 100% in football.

Frenkie de Jong has come quite a distance since he was on the cusp of quitting Barcelona a year ago. As the 2022–23 season went on, the 26-year-old gradually pushed his way into Xavi Hernandez's plans and ended the year as one of the team's most crucial players.

Last season, Frenkie de Jong was among the Catalans' most reliable players in terms of quality and conditioning. His significance will only grow throughout the course of the following season with Sergio Busquets gone.

The Dutch midfielder recently discussed his future at Barcelona in an interview with Telegraaf, saying that he wanted to continue at the team. He was forced to acknowledge the erratic character of the transfer market in the world of football, though.

“I feel good at Barça, as always. If all goes to plan, I will stay at Barcelona next season. You can never say it’s 100% in football but I suppose I’ll be at Barcelona next year”.

In the hope that the Barcelona star might be receptive to coming, Manchester United wasted the majority of the summer pursuing Frenkie de Jong.

They even came to an agreement on a player's fee because Barcelona was willing to let the midfielder leave.
