Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag planning for ‘a gruelling boot camp’ to ensure flying start next season

The Red Devils begin their pre-season against Leeds United in mid-July
Manchester United's summer transfer window is not going the way that they wanted. However, Erik ten Hag doesn't want to wait for new signings to come, instead, he has already planned the pre-season training for his players.
According to the Sun, the Dutch manager has given his instructions to the Carrington training base staff to ensure that everything is ready at the start of July. The staff can also expect Ten Hag to be at the desk as early as next weekend.
It is understood that the manager is planning four days of double sessions with an emphasis on building stamina across the squad.
For this, he demanded the pitches should get ready by the end of the coming week. The testing is due to begin on July 3 for those players who are not away on national duties.
The Carrington staff are referring to it as a 'Hell Week.'
Manchester United made a poor start to the 2022-23 season. They lost the opening two fixtures in the Premier League. After making a decent recovery and finishing third last season, the Dutch manager will be expecting a perfect start from his players this time around.
The Sun also wrote, “Last summer Erik had players doing press-ups and other fitness forfeits to try and build spirit. This time it sounds like some might actually have their spirits broken!”
Manchester United are currently looking to add more players to their team. After securing Champions League football, they would want to strengthen every possible weakness and head into the 2023-24 season with full confidence.
Erik ten Hag's begin their pre-season with a friendly against Leeds United on July 12 in Oslo. Then they face French side Lyon at Edinburgh. Manchester United will also head to the USA for the first time in five years.
The manager will be looking for a positive response from his team and hope that his team settles well in the pre-season.
