Premier League strikers were dominant last season

It was a thrilling 2022-23 season in Europe that ended with Manchester City winning the treble. Pep Guardiola's team were dominant in the Premier League, Champions League, and the FA Cup. One of the reasons behind their success was a summer signing Erling Haaland, who joined the blue side of Manchester and was and played a significant part in claiming the treble.

Not only Haaland but there were a few other strikers who were lethal in front of the goal. These players not only scored goals but also has the best conversion rate in Europe's top five leagues.

These are the three top players with the best conversion rate in the top five European leagues for the 2022-23 season.

3. Harry Kane - 23.1% (30 goals)

Harry Kane is one of the best English strikers to play in the Premier League. The 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward once again showed his class in front of the goal and scored 30 goals in 38 league games. This was only the second time when England's captain reached the 30-goal mark and failed to win Golden Boot.

Spurs' captain had a conversion rate of 23.1% this season. He attempted 130 shots to score these many goals. Harry Kane converted five penalties in the league. The Englishman played 13 league games combined in March, April, and May and went on to score 12 goals. However, Kane's 30 goals were not enough for Tottenham Hotspur to play in Europe. They finished seventh in the league.

2. Alexandre Lacazette - 23.5% (27 goals)

Alexandre Lacazette returned to Lyon after a disappointing five-year spell at Arsenal. This move worked in favour of the Frenchman and he ended up scoring 27 goals in 35 Ligue 1 games. He only finished behind Kylian Mbappe in the race for the Golden Boot.

The 32-year-old attempted 115 shots and converted 27. Lacazette scored a goal with almost every fourth shot that he attempted towards the goal. The Frenchman scored six goals from the penalty spot. Despite scoring 27 goals in his return back to the French league, Lacazette's side failed to reach European competition after finishing seventh.

1 Erling Haaland - 29.3% (36 goals)

Erling Haaland was the best and the most lethal striker in Europe's top five leagues. He broke various records and scored 52 goals in the entire season and steered Manchester City to a treble.

The 22-year-old attempted 123 shots in the Premier League and converted 36 in the goal. This was the best goal conversation rate in the top five leagues. Haaland scored seven goals from the penalty spot. His dominance in the league resulted in four hattricks to his name.
