Top five players with most goals and assist in a single season in football history

Lionel Messi dominates the list
All these years we have only talked about the goal-scoring machines, yet no one gives credit where it's due; behind every goal scored there's a proper delivery with just the right amount of pace that is provided to the striker to score a goal.
These skilled players possess a unique ability to not only fill the air with excitement but also leave a lasting impression and impact on the beautiful game. Together, goals and assists create a footballing symphony that captivates the senses in this beautiful game.
When we talk about goals and assists, there are very few footballers who have the most goals and assists in one single season:
5. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - 80 goals and assists (2010-11)
Lionel Messi started the season against Sevilla in the Supercopa de Espana and netted a hat-trick. Messi had to miss a couple of games that season because he suffered an injury in just the fourth game of the season, but he made a quick recovery. He went on to break Barcelona's single-season goalscoring record in all competitions and tie the all-time Champions League record at 12 (shared with Ruud van Nistelrooy).
Leo's moment of the season was by far the most difficult one to choose from the Champions League-winning squad. In the end, it was the goal that all but decided the Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Messi picked up the ball 35 yards out and slalomed his way through Real's defence to the goal, where he beat Iker Casillas to the far side. It was one of, if not the best, goals of the season.
4. Luis Suarez (Barcelona) - 83 goals and assists (2015-16)

The Uruguayan forward moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2014 but was forced to watch from the sidelines for two months as he was suspended for an incident during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. El Pistolero, arguably one of the most talented players of the decade behind the Argentine and Portuguese, will also go down in the history books. Suarez's second season at Barcelona was the greatest season a striker has ever had, even greater than his own 2013-14 (Liverpool) campaign.
Luis Suarez finished his career with Barcelona as the recipient of the Pichichi Award, the trophy for LaLiga’s top scorer. The Uruguay international finished with 40 goals, beating Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi to the top spot. It marked the first time since 2009 that someone other than Ronaldo or Messi had won the award, helping them clinch the Spanish title in the 2015-16 season.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) - 84 goals and assists (2014-15)

Real Madrid (118 goals in 2014-15 LaLiga) pierced the opposition's net the most, and it was possible thanks to Cristiano. The Portuguese scored goals in every way possible. Highlighted by a magical morning in April against Granada CF, when he scored five. It was the first time he had managed five goals in a game in his career, and he became the only active player in LaLiga to do so.
With a total of 48 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo became the top goal scorer in LaLiga, and for the second consecutive year, he won the Golden Boot, which is awarded to the top goal scorer in the European leagues. The same season, he won the Ballon d'Or for his performances previous season, and the five-time Champions League winner is regarded as one of the best strikers in Real Madrid's history.
2. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - 89 goals and assists (2014-15)
Lionel Messi, then FC Barcelona's forward, was a playing machine, a goal-scorer, and a goal-giver that season. In the 57 matches that he played in the season, he only missed three matches and 315 minutes of action. He was the only Barca player to play all 38 matches in LaLiga. In the Champions League, he played everything (13 out of 13 and 1,170 minutes), while in the Copa del Rey, he just missed three games.
Speaking of all these competitions, with his 89 goals and assists in the 2014-15 season, where Cristiano Ronaldo won the Pichichi trophy, it was Messi who led the legendary Barcelona squad to have a treble-winning season after winning LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League. The 2014–15 season was one of the most successful ones for Barcelona and Lionel Messi.
1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - 105 goals and assists (2011-12)
Lionel Messi's 2011–2012 season stands as one of the most remarkable individual campaigns in the history of football. During that campaign, Barcelona had a season to forget as they finished second in Laliga and were eliminated by Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, but Messi's performances were nothing short of extraordinary as he shattered records and showcased his unparalleled talent.
In that 2011–12 season, Messi was involved in 105 goals and assists across all competitions; these numbers alone highlight his incredible goal-scoring and playmaking abilities. Messi wasn't just a prolific goal-scorer; his vision and creativity were also on full display, as his understanding of the game and his ability to read the game allowed him to deliver inch-perfect passes and create numerous goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates.
