Saudi clubs reach verbal agreement with Chelsea trio
Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Eduardo Mendy will leave the Blues this summer
Three Chelsea players are on their way to the Saudi Pro League after reaching a verbal agreement with the clubs.
Hakim Ziyech is moving to the Saudi Pro League after this week's personal agreement with Al Nassr over a three-year deal and the current agreement between Chelsea and the team over the move.
According to earlier reports, we were supposed to receive "upwards of £50m" from all (four) of our agreements with PIF-backed SPL teams; Ziyech would probably represent one of the larger portions of the overall pie.
The Moroccon came close to leaving the Blues for PSG in January, so this move is possibly the least surprising of all of our anticipated business this summer if it doesn't suffer a similar fate. The 30-year-old leaves with 107 appearances, 14 goals, one Champions League championship, and more.
The Blues have reached an agreement with Al-Hilal to sell Eduardo Mendy
The transfer of Édouard Mendy to fellow Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli has been approved. We don't have a clear value associated with the agreement. However, the goalkeeper will also agree to a three-year contract.
The Senegalese was the unquestioned first-choice in the goalpost at the Blues for two seasons, despite perhaps being somewhat underappreciated at the point of his arrival—what an adventure he had done so!—and he was a major factor in the Blues' ability to reach numerous cups finals during that period as well as win several of them, such as, obviously, the 2021 Champions League.
Al-Hilal nearing the signing of Koulibaly as verbal agreement reached
The team paid a little bit more to sign the former Napoli centre-back last summer. The Blues are expected to get a sizeable payment from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, even if they won't get their entire signing bonus back.
Former Napoli centre-back has reached a verbal agreement to join Al-Hilal.
As part of the country's significant investment in its domestic league, all three of the Chelsea players will be moving to Saudi Arabia.
