When will Mohun Bagan start their pre-season?

The Mariners' reserves side are already playing in the CFL.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant's reserves team are already creating havoc in the Calcutta Football League, but with the Durand Cup to start in early August, when will the senior team start their preparations? As per a source, "Mohun Bagan will start their pre-season on 22 July, Saturday. The players who were in the national team might not join immediately but after a few days. However, that's just a possibility.""

Mohun Bagan have started their 2023-24 season well, at least in the transfer market. They have roped in top class players - Anwar Ali, Anirudh Thapa, Sahal Abdul Samad, Jason Cummings and Armando Sadiku. Also, they have brought in Antonio Lopez Habas as the new Technical Director of the club. As per the information received this evening, "Antonio Habas will fly to Kolkata in the first week of August. However, Juan Ferrando will be arriving on 22 July dawn."

Mohun Bagan's preparations

As mentioned earlier, the Mariners have bought top-notch players, both Indian and foreigners. Currently, they are waiting to assemble for the full-fledged training, which might be scheduled at the Maidan Tent itself.

Last season, Mohun Bagan had lifted the Indian Super League Trophy, a success which saw the 'ATK' prefix fly out of the window. Now, with fans fully charged up to see their new heroes, the club is preparing to provide them another feast of a season.

This season, Mohun Bagan will play in the Durand Cup, AFC Cup (preliminary rounds), the Indian Super League and Federation Cup. They might also get a chance to go abroad and play a few matches, as mentioned by AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey previously. However, a fan might see a mixture of reserves with the main team in the Durand Cup, where they have been grouped alongside arch-rivals East Bengal, Bangladesh Army Team and Punjab FC.
