Al-Hilal make record €300m bid for Kylian Mbappe

Saudi club will sign him for one-year contract

A record-breaking offer for Kylian Mbappé has been made by the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, thought to be worth €300 million (£259 million).

This comes after Paris Saint-Germain have decided to sell the attacker and left him out of their team for the preseason visit to Japan.

It is also understood that PSG are willing to accept to Al-Hilal's offer but the key issue would be reaching personal agreement terms with Mbappe.

Al-Hilal and Mbappé have not spoken, and PSG is still certain that the 24-year-old has agreed to terms to sign with Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer. For £166 million, Mbappé moved from Monaco to PSG in 2018.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League have spent a lot of money this summer bringing in players from Europe. The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which owns Newcastle United to a large extent and is one of four teams in the nation, has signed Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Kalidou Koulibaly for Al-Hilal.

Additionally, they are nearing completion of agreements to purchase the forwards Malcom and Aleksandar Mitrovic from Fulham and Zenit Saint Petersburg, respectively.

Before deciding to extend his contract with Paris, Mbappé looked to be considering joining Madrid last summer.

The world-record price paid by PSG to Barcelona for Neymar in 2017 was €222 million. The forward from Brazil's contract is set to end in June 2025.

In June, it came to light that Mbappé had given PSG a formal letter stating he would not exercise his right to a one-year deal extension the following summer.

Al-Hilal offer Kylian Mbappe contract worth €700m a year

Mbappe will receive a one-year contract from Al-Hilal worth €700 million, which may include a Real Madrid-only provision to snare him after only one year in the Middle East.

With PSG letting go of a player who has grown into an expense and Mbappe remaining sharp and yet having the opportunity to join Madrid, this would seem to be the best course of action for all sides.
