The Red Devils will make Andre Onana signing official in the coming days

As he nears a transfer to Manchester United, Andre Onana has stated that he wants to lift the UEFA Champions League with the team.

Onana has travelled to Manchester to complete a £47.2 million transfer from Inter Milan (£43.8 million plus £3.4 million in add-ons) and undergo a medical. At Old Trafford, the Cameroonian custodian will see his former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag again.

When describing his ambition to join Manchester United, the 27-year-old has mentioned how much he admires Ten Hag. (UtdPlug) He stated:

"Personally, I hope to win the Champions League with United.”

Onana played for an Inter team that advanced to the UEFA Champions League championship game the previous year. But in the Ataturk Stadium, Manchester City defeated the Nerazzurri 1-0.

The upcoming custodian for Manchester United is ready to bring home the trophy with the Red Devils:

Onana, who is acknowledged as one of Europe's top ball-player goalkeepers, was developed at Ajax under Ten Hag. Under the Dutch coach, he made 145 outings across several leagues, recording 58 shutouts.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper brought that form to Inter, with 19 shutouts in 41 games across all competitions. He is moving to United to take David de Gea's spot after winning the Coppa Italia.

At Ajax, Andre Onana enjoyed great success under Ten Hag, taking home the Eredivisie title three times. Legendary Manchester United player Edwin van der Sar, who served as CEO of the Johan Cruyff Arena, signed him.
