The Saudi club has entered the race to sign the French forward

Aston Villa and Al Nassr are battling for the signing of Moussa Diaby. The Premier League side was earlier planning to spend heavily on the forward but now they have a tough competitor from the Saudi Pro League side.

According to Sky Germany, Villa made a £42 million bid after seeing their initial bid rejected by Bayer Leverkusen, the Villians have tabled second but it still short of the £50 million valuation set by the German side for the French forward and now remain to be seen if it convinces them to part ways with the forward.

Saudi side Al Nassr are also in the race for his signature as they look to add him to a squad that already contains Cristiano Ronaldo.

Aston Villa have already added Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres to their team. Unai Emery's side finished seventh in the Premier League 2022-23. They qualified for the UEFA Conference League and will be a strong contender as they have a coach with a lot of European experience.

Moussa Diaby ended the 2022-23 season with 14 goals and 10 assists in 49 games. This shows that he has a goal-scoring contribution in every second game. The Frenchman creates a threat on the counters and will be a handy addition to any side.

With the Saudi club entering the race for the forward, it will be interesting to see what Diaby has in mind. He is just 24 years old and has a bright future ahead.

Under Xabi Alonso, he developed his game and attracted attention. Moussa Diaby could either stay at the Bundesliga side or move to some other club. Al Nassr could offer a high transfer fee and there are chances of the player remaining in Europe and playing for the Premier League side.
