Bruno Fernandes reveals Erik ten Hag has not decided who will play no.10 position next season

The Red Devils have signed Mason Mount
Manchester United’s ongoing pursuit of a striker is well-documented. With The Red Devils actively making progress in bringing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford and at the same time, keeping an eye out for a possible Harry Kane acquisition. United need a solid no.9 if they wish to have an impactful campaign next season.
When it comes to the no.10 position of an attacking midfielder and playmaker, United seem to be spoilt for choices, with the two top contenders being Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount.
Recently appointed captain Bruno Fernandes is manager Ten Hag’s obvious first choice, in his three seasons at Old Trafford, the Portuguese midfielder has turned into something of a talisman and is currently United’s lead playmaker.
On the other hand, Ten Hag signed Mason Mount for £60m from Chelsea. The attacking midfielder is United’s marquee signing in the transfer window till now.
When asked about who will take up the no.10 position after the signing of Mason Mount, Bruno Fernandes was quoted as saying.
“No, we haven't spoken about that decision, it is the managers call, both of us can play in many roles.”
Talking about Mason Mount’s quality, he said how he has always admired the midfielder.
“I said this a couple of years ago, that he [Mount] is one of the best players in the Premier League at the time and I hope he can do it again because he is a really good player, and he is still really young – he has a long way to go.”
Adding to his statement, he talked about Mount’s versatility.
“'We are really happy to have him here, wherever he plays, as a 10 or 8 or wing. We can both do that. The most important thing is that we help the team succeed”.
Another advantage that Bruno mentioned was about Mason Mount’s aggressiveness, he lined out how his aggressive side is the correct fuel the team needs.
He said: 'We need that aggression and passion; we need players to be like that in games. These are the kind of players that I like to play against and even more to have in my side”
